So the other day I blogged about remastering one of my albums and renaming it JUPITER RETURN...AGAIN! I have been selling a couple of downloads through my Bandcamp page, so that was a pleasant surprise. And then I immediately got to remaster the final piece of the puzzle: the album ABOUT TO EXPLODE! which is now remastered/renamed ABOUT TO EXPLODE...RE-IGNITED!
So much music, so little time!!
Some people have been listening to the music on my Bandcamp and website, telling me that the music is "really heavy" and "pretty diverse". A couple have commented that "This should have been big." In a perfect world, they would be right. My music was never meant to hit the highest pinnacles, and that's totally okay with me. I was always in my own lane, wrote music that pleased me first (some musicians, however...that's another story)
I have learned over the years to be proud of my work. Wasn't always easy. But listening to these final two albums, this feeling of "Wow, you wrote some wild shit" came over me. I forgot half of the riffs I wrote! And to be honest, without realizing it, I repeated myself on future albums with some riffs. If Metallica and Iron Maiden can do it, I can too.
Except those bands are a bit more known...
But now that all nine of my albums are up for sale, I can fully focus on the tenth album. Yes, it has a title and no I'm not saying it. Yes, I have nine songs and no I'm not saying any of the titles. I had been burned in the past by someone who considered himself heavenly. I'll leave it at that.
Mike and I worked on the sixth demo, made slight changes and they worked. That's always nice! We touched on the seventh demo, and it came together rather quickly. One of the riffs in this piece dates back to 1990. So yes I am repeating myself but in this case, it's a friggin' cool riff that needs to be heard! We have one more demo to go and then maybe we'll start recording...
Oh I am not saying when yet ;)
