Pure, traditional,

A bookmark in the book

The bookmark is the only ethical thing

To keep your place

Chastized and exclaimed 

that folding the pages is blasphemous!

The bookmark is the only way to save your place

Forbid if you dare memorize the page!

The bookmark keeps your place

 in a treacherous cage!

Oh! And if i’ve lost my bookmark–

I shall disregard the book!

The bookmark is prioritized!

If i’ve lost my bookmark

I will shield my eyes

 from reading any space!

I shall not lose my bookmark!

It keeps my place!

 So I don’t forget–

Or remember any other way!

I ruin the bookmark! I cannot look!

The bookmark ridicules me for being shook!

I can’t remember the pages

I rely on the bookmark that makes no changes!
