rant about vampires

Does anyone else find it interesting how in many modern vampire media that vampires always control the cities? like wtf?? why are humans striking deals with a supernatural predator??? does everyone just go "Yeah that somehow billionaire has been in that same skyscraper for 100 years and looks the same, thats the guy I want to control the city I live in, what could go wrong??" Don't get me wrong I like the idea of vampire's having power but there's no way humans would willing make deals with them. Only selfish people who care about their wealth and want to keep it make deals with the vampires and it pisses me off because its true to our own society. As long as they can stay wealthy, who cares what happens to the people below.
