Making applesauce, at least making it the way I do, reminds me of a few good life lessons.
It's not a catastrophe if you get it a little wrong. You can always try to fix it, and if it doesn't work, you did your best.
It's not ready until it's ready. Things take time. I don't judge my final product until the next day, the flavors need time to develop.
It's okay to enjoy things that aren't for everyone. I know a lot of folks feel applesauce is boring, and that's fine. If they don't want to try a new thing, well, that tells you something about them as a person.
And it's good to be proud of your accomplishments. Even if it's just making a batch of applesauce.
