Going from my favorite match of all time [see my first blog] to a match that I think is pretty great but not all too special, its swerve strickland vs hangman adam page vs Samoa Joe for the aew world championship ! Samoa joe is the champ after beating my 2nd favorite wrestler ever [MJF], and he is as great as ever. Samoa Joe is the best big man I've ever seen in wrestling, to be fair, hes easily one of my favorites. Reason for that being is that hes so good at making everything he does look like a big beefy boy made of pure beef did it. He's imposing, is what im trying 2 say. 

His challengers are swerve and hangman. Aka: yaoi. aaka: doomed & toxic yaoi. At this part in their never-ending love, swerve had pretty much fully corrupted mr. main character, goodie two shoes hangman adam page to being just as crazy and evil as he is. I could make a whole blog post on this feud,, I love it so much,,,, but liek all you need 2 know for this match iz that they hate eachother very Gayly. Especially hangman. That man hates swerve. Hate, hate, hateeeees. Hates him so bad he wants to kiss him,,,,,

anyhow. 

The match! It starts with Samoa joe being the veteran and taking out both of his challengers hardly breaking a sweat. The thing with Samoa Joe in 2024 is that he debuted in 2000. Hes been in this game for 20+ years. Hes gonna know all ur tricks, all ur plays n gambits. As much as his best trait is his imposing nature, his second best is that fact that hes a thinking man. He does a thonk n then kills u. Itz great. Of course swerve n hangman get the upper hand, and they have a wrestle. Very hateful. Very impressive. Very gay. I can't state a blow by blow, pace by pace recap like I can for the Roderick n KOR match but what I can do is tell you the general dyanmic,, which iz really great! Hangman is hellbent on beating swerve, Swerve is an equal opportunity dangerous man with something to prove, and Samoa Joe is Samoa Joe. The constant! 

I will focus on hangman for a second, because he truly is on a certain timing in this match. He wastes two referees like its absolutely nothing, makes Swerve eat metal sooo many times, its really cool to see the depths this once virtuous and heroic man will go when hes become to everything he swore he wouldn't be. It plays off Swerve really well here. I like to think of Swerve as chaotic neutral, all he really wants to do win, and Hangman is chaotic evil. He wants to hurt *swerve*.

Eventually, that'll be what does it for these two. They can't focus on taking down the big bad Samoan Joseph, and he chokes the life out of hangman for the tapout win. A retention for Joseph, and it sets up his 1v1 match against swerve later on in the year. Hangman honestly just crashes out further. He really falls off the wagon, in more than one way. It was a pretty cool match, all things considered. Wasn't perfect, but good. Felt like Samoa Joe didnt have much to do, unfortunately, but the story of the match was that the focus wasn't on him so itz all chill. [im also not the largest hangman adam page fan,, like, I like his character and his acting, but he doesn't inspire me much as a wrestler. He's amazing, just not one of my favs.]

One day ill blog about swerve vs hangman as just those two,,, cus they truly are my favorite gay couple. Hangswerve forever. Theyve offically said, like swerve has confirmed, that they make out for 30 minutes b4 their matches. I think they kinda like eachother. That blog will be some day n not someday soon tho,, cus I had to set up Samoa joe, cus im writing about him vs kobashi from 2006 next. Another brilliant match which will no doubt get the patches big massive fiver.
