The push towards old tech

OPEN DISCUSSION - BE RESPECTFUL IN COMMENTS !!  (?・・)σ

Has anyone else seen the huge wave of people wanting everyday technology like cellphones, laptop/computers, tvs, etc to go back how it wash In the early 2000's and late 1900's? At first when I saw the posts I thought I was just seeing a wave of collectors or simply people that still have some of their old tech and showing off.

Instead I found out there's of wave of mostly Genz wanting to go back to everyday tech of the early 2000's and late 1900's, saying that everyday tech shouldn't have became to advanced, and that by next year that they were gonna switch back starting January 1st, 2026.

Though this movement has been meet with extreme push back, some saying this would only become a trend while others worried that it would make this technology too expensive to buy if more people do this.

MY OPINION (☞゚ヮ゚)☞

This move is very interesting. Technology now a days appearance wise looks so boring. The technology of the past, even simple speakers looks interesting, fun, and cool. Now everything has the same boring shape, especially tech like computers and speakers. I don't see any harm to this trend as normal collection of these items has always been a thing for years now. Anyways what are your opinion(s) on the subject?? Sorry for any grammar errors I finished writing this at 1:30 A.M.

I think people have always and will always enjoy older things. Especially in the world of video games wanting to enjoy older titles has been a thing for a long time. And in gaming companies have capitalised in the yearning for older products with services such as the Nintendo Virtual console and Xbox backwards compatibility program. And even the mini console craze from the late 2010s. In video games and other media like films and even tech companies often capitalise upon the success of older products to sell them again or new ones as generally they are proven to work and often times have a special quality to them that makes them stand out. And even in the field of technology people enjoy older products and have for a while. When Windows XP and 7 got discontinued many people stuck with them as they where considered by many to be of higher quality than the products that came after them and when Apple discontinued the iPod classic line the sales increased. And while I do think there could be an increase in people wanting retro tech now days I don't think this is really that abnormal. The only thing I think is the eras that most people want to emulate change, as an example there was a big 80's thing going around many industries a few years back but now I think that's less popular although still has its fans. But another thing is that some people just want something different and the easiest way to stand out without being weird is taking inspiration for something that people are familiar with.
