PSA: kids and teens - DO NOT reveal your age!

I know you want other people to know your age so the adults know not to interact with you, but it does not ward off predators, who instead will target you. For one, being a minor, and two, being an even easier target for so willingly giving up info.

I saw two minors talking about this under Jackie's post where I understood why you aren't taking this seriously. Both people mentioned something like, if someone bothers them, or seems weird or creepy, they'll just block one.

Please listen to me. It is not that simple. These predators are manipulative groomers. They will hunt you like a slow crocodile. The whole problem is that you wouldn't realize whats happening, you wouldnt realize you are being groomed. Even adults can be manipulated - and while human is bad at telling lies, human is also bad at detecting lies, especially minors, especially those naive enough to think having unsuspecting adults contact you is worse than having pedophiles contact you.

If it was that easy to just detect and block a groomer - this problem would barely exist to begin with. "The worst that can happen" isn't some direct or obvious harassment - its far worse than you can think as of now. It doesn't help that - from outside a situation, abuse is obvious - hence you may have Dunning-Krueger confidence after studying other cases of grooming - but when any manipulation is happening to you yourself, it isn't. These manipulators make sure of it.

If you want to see a not triggering and more visual form of this - see the illusionist Apollo Robbins and how he pickpockets basically. And you'd see how gullible the person within the scenario is even tho its obvious to the outside viewer what is happening. And that is just a glimpse of how gullible human is.

If you, as a minor, are writing your exact age in your bio, in my opinion you are being naive. My advice is, take it off your profile.

Yes that was a fun class). I can tell you from a hacker's pov as well - that you revealing your age gives a lot of info.
