a quick(?) pop culture(??) rant (and a little bit of f1)

i have had a lot of different thoughts about different things that's going on in pop culture and by that, i mean my twitter feed got a lot going on. now, i'm aware that i get easily annoyed by how dumb people are on twitter and i know i just need to look away but unfortunately, they always get my ass and now im pissed!! so here's a quick rant, maybe will be in a dot point form, about different things that's been pissing me off recently. enjoy!!

katseye

as someone who's been chronically online her whole life, i recognise the pattern of everyone loving something or someone to suddenly hating them. currently, katseye is getting this treatment as everyone was so obsessed with gnarly and their gap ad but now everyone and their mothers has some shit to say about them. i do know that some of the things being said about them are valid! like how their discography is honestly not that good... and that's not on the girls but to whoever is in charge of giving them songs. i also think it's valid that people are concerned on whether if hybe/geffen (idk and idc) are sexually exploiting them because of their revealing outfits. HOWEVER... i have never seen such a group (minus yoonchae bc she's a minor) ooze so much confidence with what they're wearing. i feel like if they were uncomfortable with their outfits, you would see it change or see the members be visibly uncomfortable. none of those happened though which leads me to believe that they are fine with what they are wearing. also, i feel like their outfits fit well with their personal style which could affect their confidence positively. so yeah! i do think if katseye members were uncomfortable, they would speak up and we would already be seeing change.

ariana grande and cynthia erivo fiasco

i think this one has been really pissing me off a lot lately because i don't understand why people are so,,, weirded out by their friendship??? well actually, i can see why and i can see the concerns but it's the way people talk about them and their friendship that makes me uncomfortable because people are waaaaayyyy too comfortable commenting on things they don't know about. 

1. i see their friendship and bond as girls who are seeing each other experience what they have always dreamed about. hence the reason for their closeness and the way they're so emotional with each other. i do not appreciate the way people see this friendship as "them experiencing mass hallucination during the wicked filming." LIKE WHY ARE WE SHAMING PEOPLE FOR SHOWING BIG EMOTIONS?? HELLO/??? NONCHALANCE IS NOT COOL.....

2. i understand the concerns for their body but the way people are blaming them (especially ariana) and making memes about it is uncomfortable to me like... they're humans too and we don't know what they are going through for them to seem "unhealthy" and i feel like making this into a big spectacle can definitely impact their health negatively. im just so sick of people commenting on celebrities' bodies like i get the concern and i get how kids would perceive these but can we stop with this witchhunt weirdo-ness already. 

I FUCKIGN HATE LANDO NORRIS STOP STOP STOP

UHMMMMM... next week is the last f1 race and it will also be the RACE where the 2025 championship will be decided and i literally just hope it's not fucking lando. like i hate his ass and i have reasons that i have yet to compile into a google doc BUT PLEASE PLEASE IM MANIFESTING MAX VERSTAPPEN 5TH CHAMPIONSHIP PLEEEASSEEE. but i also hope its oscar piastri,,, im just less optimistic about him but I STILL BELIEVE!!!!! I DONT CARE WHO WINS AT THIS POINT AS LONG AS ITS NOT LANDO NORRIS.

ANYWYAS... rant over. i just thought about writing this bc i needed to let it out and uhhh its like 2:40 in the morning and i have to be awake at 5 am for work so... fuck my stupid gay angry chungus life i guess
