If you don't set boundaries and then get upset when someone crosses one, that's on you. As an autistic person who grew up in an emotionally neglectful household, something I struggled with is hyperanalyzing people. I've learned that is not healthy or helpful, so I am actively unlearning that. Part of unlearning it is surrounding myself with people who let me know when something is wrong. I no longer have to guess if everything is okay because they will simply tell me that. Setting boundaries and being very upfront about how you feel can be uncomfortable, but it is necessary if you want to have a healthy, prosperous relationship with someone.
I value communication sooooo much
