New habit month

Hey friends :) 

I was thinking about new years and came up with this to avoid resolutions, bc they suck. Every day this month I’m going to add a new daily habit. The first I started brushing my teeth twice instead of once. Today I’m going to start drinking more water every morning and night. I think tomorrow I’ll start yoga in the mornings.

The hope is that doing this will help me stick with it after new years. My biggest problem is coming up with 30 things I can do each day, my current list of things to add has studying, reading, cleaning, skincare, exercise, music practice. If anyone has some useful hobbies I can throw in or good habits I haven’t thought of PLEASE type em for me. Also you should all totally try this with me it’ll be fun in a shared misery kind of way

That sounds like a great idea man. You could also try learning a language like Spanish or Japanese. Or if you are willing to bring your wallet out you could also start building nanoblocks or Lego. I would also really recommend writing in a journal or diary every night right before you go to bed. I have been doing it every night this year thus far. And it is a good way to talk about your thoughts and life, offering a good source to look back on how you felt about memorable events and what your average day looked like. Also write the date down so you know when you wrote it. Also if you don't want to do it physically you can use a digital device on a program like word or Apple or Google's journal apps. And from what I hear the Apple Journal app has a streak feature if you like to have streaks but you could just use an app like TheDayBefore to track that for a physical diary. Anyway that sounds like a great idea dude.

Ooh yeah journaling is a good one. I’ll probably do a physical one bc I’m trying to cut back on electronics, might start that day after tomorrow. Thanks man!

I use physical also. Another thing that I want to mention is when its like 3am and I haven't gone to bed I will put the date down as the day that proceeded so if it was the 2nd now it is the 3rd due to well the next day has begun I will enter the date in my diary as the 2nd as presumably most of your waking hour until that point was spent on the 2nd and you haven't slept yet so it just makes sense. But yeah its a good thing to do if you find yourself up late to do that I reckon.
