menacing cats

(this story is set in the same place and time as the last one)

In the backyard of the house I was living in at the time, there was a large black cat. The black cat would often walk into our open kitchen, and scare almost everybody in the house. I, being a stereotypical eight year old, would encourage the cat every time to no avail. Despite this, it was still a win for my part, because it seemed like the cat attracted some friends.

Eventually, someone discovered another white cat in our backyard, along with many others. But this white cat is the only one out of all of those discoveries significant to this story, so whatever liking you had for the black cat should evaporate. A month or so with this cat hanging around made it apparent that it had an evil twin.

The evil twin in question had red eyes and a strange aura around it. At first, me and two other people went outside to watch the cats. I've always preferred the indoors, but reluctantly agreed, and we resolved to sitting down on the grass and watching the cats. While the two adults talked, I noticed something strange about the cat; its stance was odd.

But before I could say something about it, the cat shifted its position into a clearer view, causing its red eyes to be visible. Immediately, the lizard-fearer called it out. The cat slowly creeped out of its humble abode, and set forth upon ours, which at the point was unaware of its malicious intent.

it lowered itself to the ground after locking its eyes on the animal-fearer, seriously about to jumpy at her. it grew worse and worse, until she, the person not the cat, finally decided to exit. We followed short, deciding that spending time in the ER was not a fun way to spend a friday night. especially considering the cat could have rabies.

I still wonder about that cat sometimes. Hopefully it has lived, and found a new target.
