I get off devices and screens an hour before bed in order to wind down for sleep, but I don't have many books at home. I'm currently going through my sister's collection, but I would love to have a larger library without the bulk of it. My sister owns an older Kindle Paperwhite, and she loves it. I especially like the e-ink and how you're able to read in direct sunlight.
I'm going to ask for a Kobo Clara BW, since it looks like it fits my needs, and I heard it has more customization options than a Kindle. Plus, I can use the Libby app on there to borrow books from my library and read it on a Kobo.
Does anyone have experience with the Kobo e-readers? I'm mainly choosing it because of its price and it doesn't make you pay a premium for no ads, but other recommendations are welcome as well.

i'm someone that reads 98% of my books as PDFs and my only e-reader is an old kindle paperwhite that's close to a decade old but my best advice in general is to look for a more compact e-reader. don't get those fancy bigass ultraHD full color e-readers if all you read is plaintext novels. also avoid amazon shit like the plague it's not worth it, the process of jailbreaking one is a pain.
