Rant about censorship

The other day I was curious to see if a new manga pirating website I'd heard of worked, so I typed in the url only to find that it was blocked due to having nsfw and parental controls. I didn't want to give up like that so I simply typed in the name of the website and lo and behold it let me click onto it and even search for the nsfw that it blocked the website for, which I find rather odd. Honestly, I have no idea why this may happen but at the same time I'm rather glad as it allows me to read manga I wouldn't be able to otherwise.

Something similar happens on YouTube z where you can search "how to tie a noose" and it offers a helpline but if you add some censorship      (eg : "H0w to tie a n00se") it shows you all the results that it previously withheld, which I think is utterly useless. At that point you may as well just not have the censorship as it's more a bother than anything else. An example of this is when I wanted to listen to the song "I hate myself and want to die" by Nirvana and it kept giving me a helpline instead of the song I wanted, which is actually really good. I had to find out what album the song was in, look up the album, and only then could I listen to the song, which even if it was good, was also more trouble than it was worth.
