moving tips?

so im moving from a woodland town, decently populated, but not as populated as the big city im going into. this new college seems to have amazing opportunities, and i have access to all types of public transport. it all seems positive for me, but moving on my own to a place that feels foreign is stressful. im finally understanding how covid took away three years of preparing for adulthood, and i'm so nervous about how i'm going to keep myself on track. how does one, like, safely be an adult on their own with no idea of the city's layout. do any people who've lived on their own, or know people who've gone through this, have any general tips on first time moving? even if you don't relate, i don't mind the inputΒ

Keep stuff like silverware light! If ur moving to live by urself, u likely don't need too many. They are plentiful, buy a set of silverware u really love and enjoy every day. U will take better care of it, and u won't waste space on taking stuff that has no real positive impact on the place ur moving into.

Try to fill the space with things that encourage you and motivate you to take care of them. It helps make cleaning easier on the brain when u love ur items
