Was at lunch when I saw my classmate (lets call her A) digging through my other classmate's backpack (lets call her B).
" Did you ask beforehand? " I asked. In English I think, maybe Cantonese. I cant remember the exact sentence.
A says, " Yep. I did that, right? " and she says the second part at B.
Another classmate, lets call her C, tells me not to be so nosy. Eh.

She isn't wrong, it's best to stay out of other people's business, especially if they aren;t your close friends/family.
Agreed. I'd rather just sit back and watch my class be in shambles (half serious; I'd try to help in some way or another.)

Nah, you should be just more discreet. Just watch what the person does, keep an eye just in case there something going on that shouldn't and keep it in mind if it seems to turn into an issue and THEN you can, also discreetly, intervene. Asking outloud does seem kinda out of place, even with good intentions
