The 67 Numerology and the Myth of Perseus and the Gorgon Medusa

Imagine a hero facing a creature so terrifying that a single glance can turn you to stone. This is the myth of Perseus and Medusa. But you would never have thought that the mythology could be mythopoetically allegorized via the random fatuous internet meme "67" numerologically.

In numerology, we break down multi-digit numbers to their root essence. The number 67 reduces to 4 (6 + 7 = 13, then 1 + 3 = 4). Therefore, the connection works on two valuers: the compound number 67 and its root number 4.

The number 6 is often associated with love, harmony, responsibility, affection, and basically peaceful and nurturing nature. One of the examples is that number 6 have geometric and natural symbols such as the hexagon and the tree. Hexagon and the tree is found sometimes in natural occurences in plant structures or geological formations, which further represent harmony and stability.

The number 7 is often associated with spirituality, wisdom, mystery, and intellectual perfection. In nature and cosmology, there were traditionally the 7 wandering stars, or planets that are only visible to the naked eye: the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. The lunar cycle is approximately 28 days, which is result of 4x7, in human biology, cells are said to regenerate significantly every 7 years. Number 7 itself symbolizes completeness and perfection in spiritual level which adds to its mystery amd wisdom. There are 7 deadly sins and 7 heavenly virtues. There are 7 primary chakras in the body and 7 rishis. There are 7 wonders of the ancient world.

The number together, 67, signifies focus on the nurturing home of family and community of 6, through a spiritual or analytical lens of 7. It stipulates a need to balance both material responsibilities and inner wisdom through harmony and perfection. The balancing leads to a practical and stable solution.

The number 4 represents stability, order, process, hardwork, and work of something lasting. In geometry, 4 is represented with stability and ability to build upon a solid base by the square, a fundamental shape with four equal sides and corners. The number 4 itself is deeply rooted into the natural and universal order through the philosophically/traditionally identified 4 primary elements that composes the world (earth, air, fire, water). There are 4 cardinal directions: North, South, East, and West. There are 4 aspects of human experience: the physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental.

The myth of Perseus and Medusa started with a divine commission when King Polydectes, sent him on a seemingly impossible mission to retrieve the head of the Gorgon Medusa. Aided by the gods, Athena and Hermes, Perseus first went to Graeae, three sisters who shared one eyes and one tooth from birth. Perseus forced them to reveal the location of the nymphs of the North by stealing their eye. He received three gifts from these nymphs: Hades' helm of invisibility, magical kibisis, and winged sandals. Perseus flew to the Gorgon's distant and isolated lair, also using the shield as a mirror to avoid her gaze. Perseus then decapitated Medusa while she slept. A winged horse Pegasus and the warrior Chrysaor sprang out of the severed neck of Medusa. Using the helm and Gorgon's head as a weapon, he then went throughout his journey home after fulfilling his destiny by rescuing Andromeda from a sea monster and turning Polydectes to stone, and establishing his own kingdom and legend.

Perseus is a man who was driven by family duty, the number 6, and he employed higher wisdom and insight of the number 7 to overcome seemingly impossible task. 6 + 7 itself equals to 13, which symbolizes death and unluck in western culture. The number 13 itself is the climax of the story, the moment of the beheading, enabled by family duty and divine strategy. What comes later is 1 + 3 which equals to 4, the outcome of the quest. From the death comes a new stable and structured reality. Perseus succeeded in saving his mother, marries Andromeda, and founds the royal lineage of Perseid Dynasty that includes Heracles. He himself had represented number 4 by building a new and lasting structure for his life.

In a part the myth, Perseus destroys the chaotic and horrifying force of Medusa. From her death came two new entities the noble Pegasus and Warrior Chrysaor. The Gorgon's head itself also later used as foundational tool. Perseus uses it to save Andromeda and solidifying his kingdom. These are the act of building and creating stable structures that the number 4 represents. It is also worth mentioning than he then gave the Gorgon's head to Athena, and placed it onto the aegis, the very foundation of her protective power.

The myth beautifully illustrates that true stability represented by the number 4 is not found through brute force, but phases. The first is the intelligent and spiritual application of responsibility 6+7, that led to the climax or the result 13 which is transformation via destruction, that made 4 or the strong foundation possible. In conclusion, 6 (Duty) + 7 (Wisdom) → 13 (Accelerationist Transformation) → 4 (New Stability)

Well, to be honest, I had stumbled across a video once about 67 kid and another Greek myth. Though, I dont remember most of it. But that video mostly focused on the 67 kids (yes plural, because there was 2 kids discussed if I remember) rather than the number 67 itself. If I am not wrong, that video focuses on THE 67 kid's ambition and hunger for more that led to his "demise". But my inspo for this blog is mostly my previous blog about bladee's gnosticism (pseudophilosophy)
