NO SPOILERS FOR LAD:IW ONWARDS!!
(I've only played up to 7 and Gaiden. Thanks.)
Hi, SpaceHey!
As you can tell from my profile, I'm a VERY big fan of these games and I'm kind of looking for more people to discuss it with, whether it be potential newcomers to the series or those who have played through many of the games like I have.
You can ask me anything from where would be a good place to start with the series or my favorite characters and games and I'd be happy to yap to you about them.
Hope to chat soon!
Love,
Moe.

Who is your fav villain of all time?
My most favorite villain in Yakuza is definitely Nishiki. I'm a sucker for descent into villainy/corruption arc stories, and Nishiki's is one of the most heartbreaking ones I've ever seen. The times we spend with him in 0 and the extra scenes we get with him in Kiwami make his betrayal of Kiryu that much more sorrowful.
He was one of the most important people in Kiryu's life, and it really shows in the fact that he still sings "TONIGHT - Restart from this night" (one of my favorite karaoke songs in the series) in Infinite Wealth, almost 20 years after his sacrifice.
Also he has a kick-ass theme. Both versions of For Whose Sake are superb in their own right and really sells the whole "I don't want to fight you" feeling.
Other favorites of mine are Ryuji, Kuze, Awano, Someya, and Kuwana from Lost Judgment!

what are you VERY detailed thoughts on majima? his life, backstory, personality, how his character is written, as much as you want...
Majima is def one of my favorite characters, right up there with Kiryu and Ichi!
I love everything about him, but I love his personality the most, from his silly and crazy side to the vulnerable and sorrowful part of him that we mostly see in 0 (and the few sprinkles of it we get in other games).
It's really interesting to think about much of the "Mad Dog" persona is an act that he puts on as a sort of coping mechanism for all that he had been through, and it makes him very relatable (for me, at least)
His story in 0 is one of my favorites in the series cause it sort of lays the groundwork for who he became for the rest of the series and why he is the way he is, largely in part due to being inspired by the people around him like Sagawa, Lee, and Nishitani. The final scene he has with Sagawa is one that has always stuck with me and one of his best moments as a character
I can't wait to play as him again in Pirate Yakuza when I get to play it one day, even though it's more of a comedic spin-off than a more serious story-adjacent game like Gaiden.

ahhhh yes!!!!! i love Majima so much too. and i also think that 0 was a great exploration into his character!! when playing kiwami, i had a realisation that somehow made me feel very dumb: people who played only kiwami might look at him as a black character, a villain... which also made me feel how many depths there are to his character. it's not just 'sad backstory-Majima' or 'silly crazy-Majima'. he's complex and relatable to such extent i can't even express how much i love him. i love yakuza so muuuuuch!
