Building a Moderate 5.3 LS engine for a customer today

Hey internet, Whats up?
Today I had a customer with a stock 5.3 gen 3 motor from a 2004 half ton truck and wanted to spice some things up. We are talking flat top 3.780inch bore pistons (no boring required with his motor, it looked really nice inside), newer floating road rotating assembly. 706 heads milled .007 along with TBSS and 88mmtb.It has an Aftermarket cam, now this one is called 'Truck Norris" and its from BTR, the flavour he bought is .55x/.55x lift and then a 212 intake duration with a 22X exhaust duration (quite a split there!) but more importantly this cam is ground with a 107 degree lobe separation angle.  Thats quite a low number, which means this thing will idle like it has a much bigger cam in it, than in reality its just the poor idle quality that he was looking for. A cam with these specs should pick up some good usable power and torque in the normal driving part of the power curve without completely killing off the line torque. However it must be noted that with a profile like this, expectations of stock idle smoothness and sound should be lost.
The engine is having the heads put on as I type this, so I plan to get to tuning the ECU here in the next few days. After I do so, I will make another post on the comments I have on the cam profile (as this is an aftermarket profile, not one that I have built to spec myself) along with any one notions on the truck along with a detailed profile of the parts used and the truck in whole. Thanks for reading my little RSCT Snippet and will see you soon with a report on this mild manor 5.3 build.
