Okay so I'm gonna start this off by saying I have a bad habit of gate keeping, yes I know its wrong and stuff but I cant help it (∩´﹏`∩)
So I've been using this site for quite a while now and I've introduced some of my friends to it and some of my friends already had it, no problem there. But recently an acquaintance of mine has been posting on here about his really shitty mental health, which made me quite concerned so I told some friends and we've been trying to help in a way but for some reason that set something off and now a few other acquaintances of mine are also making accounts. No problem with that ofc it's just that some of them are making purposefully rage bait accounts of wtv, but it's about sa and stuff. In MY opinion that's not okay. Joking abt being a rapist and then saying "haha it's just rage bait" isnt really funny? Especially as someone who has been sa'd before it's just not funny. And yes it is that deep to me. Maybe I'm just a stupid gate keeper or maybe they're just immature assholes.
I think this is one if the reasons sa isn't taken seriously. Because "it's just a joke" right?? Well very funny when someone gets violently molested. And the fact they're male 15-16 year olds isn't making this any better, I'm not saying men cant be sa'd or anything I just feel like men tend to take these topics less serious.
If you see this and know this is abt you please reconsider your actions!!

I do not think you are a gatekeeper whatsoever, I believe you have every right to feel the way you do.
I personally find it very hard to understand how people can trivialize something very real and the ragebaiting is very clearly just to get a reaction, still in very poor taste. I especially see this be joked about a lot on Twitter with some very common reoccurring images used as "memes". This is very strangely common with men and I feel like it has a lot to do with the pressures society has forced onto them, especially with the whole "men aren't supposed to be emotional", which I guess extends to men not being allowed to feel sympathy.

RIGHT??? it's so upsetting that people do that and then I get called sensitive for calling them out!!
