I needed a break from my stupid country, lol. I was surprised at how young the border guards were. The oldest and most serious was a tad skeptical that I drove over five hours just to go to three specific stores, but was gracious enough to let me go through.
Honestly, I feel sorry for the Canadians. I can definitely tell it didn't used to be like this. The brief time I spent taught me that the Canadians really aren't that much different from us, though they are undeniably better off than us. Plus, they don't have ICE going around hunting anyone paler than "tan".
I was very surprised to see Toys R Us still in operation north of the border and went in for a look. On average, their prices aren't that different from ours. Unfortunately, Transformers toys are stupidly overpriced there as well. What hit me right in the heart was seeing Thomas The Tank Engine toys.
A combination of the very heavy traffic (Black Friday is a thing there too, unfortunately) and short daylight kinda slogged my adventure. Admittedly, this was a trip made on impulse because I don't want to celebrate Thanksgiving this year. Still, I hope if and when I go again, I get more out of it.
