All i see on this category is "religion is a coping mechanism"

While im not about to try to prove you wrong because im the type to enjoy discussing on topics and not arguing, i saw this post a couple minutes ago about how religion was getting out of hand and too widely spread or something like that, and that it was a coping mechanism (again)

But religion has always been part of humans life, lol.

I assume they're talking about the abrahamic religion, which are spreading a lot rn, or that its all they know about religions, but it has always been part of humans. Greek/Roman mythology, Buddhism, Hinduism... for example, and they've been around for a looong time. But a big part, if not the whole world, has always had religious beliefs, they were just polytheists.

Before Christopher Colombus "discovered" america, the natives americans believed in deities too. 

And those are just concrete examples we can quickly get familiar with because im not that educated on polytheist religions. I thought it was commonly known tho...

So yeah, id love to see more stuff in this category
