I'm Brazilian and I think the schools here are awful.
I've always heard that in schools in other countries, like the United States, students can choose what they want to learn or not. I don't quite understand it, but here we are forced to learn some School subjects that most people aren't interested in, plus in other countries teachers are trained professionals who understand and teach students "well" what they want to learn, not here, Most of the teachers only went to college for some crappy subject, and instead of teaching things we have NO INTEREST in, they just talk about life and annoy us, Who cares that your daughter is pregnant, Professor Roberto, damn it.
This is just the mildest thing about Brazilian schools, but I'm too lazy to talk about the rest since I'd literally be rewriting the bible just complaining about this damn school system.
Never study at a Brazilian school if you are not a university student.

American here, we really don't, you have limited extracurricular classes until you get to your last year (12th grade)

Look, I think at this point, Brazilian schools are going to be better than the ones here in Gringostan. Not because your schools are good, but because our schools are getting so bad and we're such a stupid country as a whole that even a boy from a favela will be able to think and read better than one of our brainrotted kids.
It's going to take a literal revolution to fix any of it here because this was a problem even before Trump and now, it's just gotten worse.
