Rambling about Cloverfield

I re-watched Cloverfield today and it was absolute cinema. I forgot how good the monster design is good lord I love the way the creatures look. Clover is so freaky looking and I love the noises that it makes. The parasites that come off of it are arguably more terrifying than Clover itself. I mean, if one of them bites you, you literally explode. That scene where the girl explodes after being bitten is kind of insane. I mean, you can literally see her swell up like a balloon before her stomach explodes, and if you look closely you can see part of her ribs. Then the ending where they almost escape, then Clover knocks them out of the sky? And then they literally get bombed?? Peak. Also the fact that Clover is so strong and unkillable they literally have to entirely level the city just to kill it is insane.
