Retro gamer people talk to me please 🙏

Im a huge fan of anything retro gaming related -<-

except bubsy >:(

I have many consoles and handhelds and know the gba library in and out. Huge DKC fan and would love to interact with more people in this niche because of the lack of other people with my interests at my ever-increasingly soul crushing high school

Im cool I promise (^.^)

I've been playing very old video games for over 20 years. Some of those same games turn 40. It's how I learned Japanese. There are so many games for the SNES/SFC, Genesis/MegaDrive, and others that I can recommend. There's a LOT that either the Japanese didn't want to give us or we Americans refused to let in.

My top picks:
-Pretty much anything in the Shining Force, Phantasy Star, Shin Megami Tensei, Super Robot Wars, and Fire Emblem series
-Thunder Force IV, Elemental Master, Surging Aura, Arcus Odyssey, Langrisser, Master Of Monsters, anything Golden Axe or Streets Of Rage, King Colossus, Hybrid Front, the Power Rangers Movie game, and Vixen 357 for the Megadrive
-Majuu-Oh, Galaxy Robo, Arabian Nights:Elemental King Of The Desert, the Sailor Moon RPG, Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, Bahamut Lagoon for the Super Famicom
-Sylvan Tale, Crystal Warriors, Royal Stone, Godzilla: Great March, SD Gundam: Winner's History, and Ganbare Gorby for the Game Gear

Thank you very much (^_^) I'll try to track some of these down at local game shops, genesis is region free correct?

Oh, you're trying to BUY them? I'm going to have to tell you that you're out of luck then. I've played all of these on emulators. And unfortunately, yes, the Genesis is region-locked. You cannot play Megadrive games on the Genesis or vice-versa because the cartridges and ports are designed differently. I forgot whether or not the same applies to the Super Nintendo and Super Famicom.

That sucks big time because I love playing on original hardware the snes is technically region locked but the lock is physical so if you modify your US snes shell you could play most sfc games
