COLLATERAL BEAUTY
the movie I'd like to talk about this week is Collateral Beauty, a film about loss, rebirth and acceptance.
The story revolves around an advertising executive, who isolates from social life due to a serious loss. His friends made up a plan to reach his heart before he loses everything, making him confront the difficulties of life.
WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT IT?
Collateral Beauty touched me deeply, it taught me to accept whatever life brings me, to take it as a message. It's also one of the few times I saw my dad crying...so if you're an emotional person, you better prepare the napkins!
RATING
audio/video quality: 4/5
High quality, the right colours for the emotional theme of the movie. Clean audio.
Casting: 5/5
Top-tier cast: Will Smith, Helen Mirren, Edward Norton, Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley, Naomie Harris. High level choices and the actors fit perfectly the role.
Soundtrack: 4/5
emotional soundtrack and well integrated in the scenes, without being annoying at all. Helps with the dramatic and thoughtful tone.
acting: 4/5
solid and intense scenes, expecially from Smith and Harris. Some dynamics sound a little "made up", but overall the effect is very good
Direction: 3/5
David Frankel's direction is elegant but not particularly innovative. The rythm sometimes is discontinuous and some scenes look a little forced in the building of the emotional impact
OVERALL: 20/25 VERY GOOD!
ME TIME
a few days ago I went to a convention outside my city, it was small but I had so much fun! (And spent all of my money in pins and keychains lol)
