Honestly it's so weird to see how much life can change in a short period of time. I was born in 1999 and I have a completely different experience from my friend born in 1996. Technology advanced so fast in those three years it was streamlined from the 90s directly into the 2000s. I was part of the first generation that got used to the constant barrage of information and stimuli. It's also weird because I was a scene and we didn't have the aesthetic movements of the current day. We were just fucking around being teenagers, not caring about looking good for Instagram, just our niche circles. And now I'm looking at these new kids and I'm so excited to see how the new alt kids go with the new internet. Honestly, I'm only 22 not like I'm much older than the 19 year-olds doing the e-girl stuff. Their make-up is so interesting too. I used to be stuck in 2016 then I started doing their makeup and immediately I looked so much better, it suited my eye shape more than the saturated and open eyes that I was taught to use. I feel old and young with the new alt movements going on lol.
