3D printing a shifter knob for my Volkswagen Golf IV

If you're familiar with this platform you know that Volkswagen engineers in their infinite wisdom decided to make a weird plastic part that clips on to the shifter rod instead of adding a thread to the rod like literally everyone else so you can use whatever knob you want. As a result there are very few aftermarket options and most are too expensive to justify the cost or are low quality. I found a 3D model of a Nissan 240SX NISMO shifter knob that I quite liked so I modified it to fit the OEM base from my Golf (in order to use it I removed the foam and plastic tabs with a dremel) and 3D printed it with PETG filament. Afterwards I sanded it with 220 grit sandpaper and superglued everything together.

Casualty: the printing bed from my worn out 3D printer delaminated.

Note: I used a ziptie to hold the boot to the rod instead of the OEM clip.
