Random shit i wanna talk about

So, for the past 3-4 months i've been listening to a lot of Her Words Kill, and i mean A LOT to a point of being my most listened artist than anyone else. I've known them since 2022 but i didn't really bother w them at that time besides having heard only girls, guns and dynamite(such a powerful opening track) because honestly i didn't really like the screams(but i loved the instrumental it reminded me of 2006 era eyes set to kill)so i didn't bother to listen to the whole load my revolver baby album then(i was relatively new to post hardcore and the whole scene and yea glad i've evolved my taste since then). Then sir, this is a cutthroat fashion became viral and luke's vocals really caught my attention and said DAMN i've really been missing out this whole time, so i went and listened the whole song and oh my GOD it blew me away and i know that it would be 2022 me's favourite song from the whole album if i gave it a chance then(now it's Priscilla brooke 7 and a half minutes of pure heavenly chaos). But at some point i saw that most people, idk if it was the majority or a very loud minority HATED the whole song and band and said the only good part was luke pickett's voice. On one part I have to say that luke's voice contributes a lot to the band and delivers the melody and emotion it tries to portray perfectly but on the other hand the screams, surely not the best, are one of the most raw and expressive screams i've heard to the likes of screamo bands like in loving memory, william bonney and very early la dispute (2006 Vancouver era). The contrast of the screams and the cleans are what makes them Her Words Kill and if it was only the cleans it would just be another solo project of pickett's(not dissing i love his solo poppy acoustic stuff). So I was really frustrated that they were getting that treatment and i felt like a poser listening to them because elitists being elitists and just LOVE listing anything remotely popular "mainstream" or "tiktok music"(guilty of this but i have since changed my mindset), but then I just came to my senses again and i stopped caring what others think of them, knowing that my love for them is genuine and true so why would i bother raging with others' opinions like yea ok i get that post hardcore isn't for you but for the love of god shut the fuck up and listen to literally anything else and let us have it either genuinely try to find bands that fit your taste or don't even bother entering the scene if you're gonna be a crybaby for the screams. In conclusion, I love them and I hate the way they got popular to the wrong audience but at the end of the day as many haters they got, they also gained tons of fans(including me)and that's what matters the most

(Thank you for coming to my ted talk)
