yea . . . turns out linux REALLY isn't for me. the complicated steps it would take just to install a single app, that may not even be compatible, was very very frustrating. the process for swapping back to windows was EVEN MORE IRRITATING. i would highly recommend dual booting linux and windows and never fully erasing windows from your pc/ laptop if that's the software that it came with. basically, i sound stupid, but i was just doing whatever anybody told me might help as i had been basically soft blocked from using my laptop for a month, but i deleted all my drivers. now, you could just do everything i do and NOT delete your drivers, but i deleted them whilst in the process of deleting all partitions in order to see my root or something in options to download windows 11 onto. turns out, all i had to do was search "windows 11 download not able to find root" or something of the sort and some nice guy on yt solved my issue i'd been dealing with for a week in literally 10 minutes. anyway, i'm on windows 11 now, using rainmeter and mydockfinder in order to get the custom layout i actually had switched over to linux for in the first place. i managed to redownload all of my system's drivers from the official acer website, i couldn't just do that before because acer only made drivers compatible with windows 11 for this laptop, as it was what it was built to run on. anyway, all fixed, very happy with my new setup, i'll attach a screenshot if i can remember how, it's been so long since i've been on here!!
