Cannibalism

Cannibalism is infact a metaphor for addiction but it is often used for love. perhaps the reason for it might be how a person can be addicted to the other in an otherworldly way that they feel the need to consume them.afterall what is love without addiction?

I thought it's because, in the act of eating someone, they become part of you, or you a part of them. A desire to seek oneness with something you love in perhaps the most deranged way possible. But the addiction thing makes sense too. If you love someone in a way that is completely consumed by an addiction, that's the same thing as eating them, because you consume whatever's good about them like you can't get enough until it rots and falls apart.

when all is consumed and nothing remains, what comes next?

abandon? boredom?

i think the reason some long-term relationships fizzle is due to the feeling there is nothing else left to know or learn from the other--routines, stability, security, the stagnancy of a relationship, the "quiet" love--but the craving to consume still remains.

if i am to be bestowed the blessing of a great love, i should hope that we are both cannibals with the same intensity of hunger, and, also, immortal beings with a rate of regeneration that never leaves us unfed or the other, without.

Exactly perhaps the addiction of their soul make a desire to eat them ,to have them absolutely close to ur soul .maybe thats why the desire to consume them get born
