So basically, at my school there’s a Baking Club (which I’m in) and recently we made Brookies (Brownies on top of cookies) and I thought they were amazing so I’ve decided to share the recipe that we used for them on SpaceHey as my first blog 💚💚💚💚💚💚
Cookie Layer
1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
4 Tbsp White Sugar
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
1 Egg
1 Cup + 4 Tbsp Flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
Brownie Layer
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Melted Butter or Margarine
1 Tsp Vanilla
2 Eggs
4 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup Flour
1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
A Pinch of Salt
Directions
1. Gather all ingredients
2. Preheat the oven to 350F (175C). Grease a square 8x8 baking dish.
3. Prepare Cookie Layer: Beat Butter, Brown Sugar, White Sugar and Vanilla in a large bowl until creamy. Add egg; beat until light and creamy (about 2 minutes)
4. Whisk Flour, Salt, and Baking Soda in a separate bowl until well combined. Gradually stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture until dough is combined
5. Stir Chocolate Chips Into Dough
6. Spread dough evenly into the prepared baking dish; set aside
7. Prepare Brownie Layer: Stir Sugar, melted Butter, and Vanilla in a bowl; add egg and beat well. Mix-in Cocoa Powder until well-combined
8. Stir in Flour, Baking Powder, and Salt until batter is combined. Pour over cookie layer and spread to cover completely
9. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean (Approx. 15-20 minutes). Cool completely before cutting into bars of equal proportion.
