A Poem by Ella

I was alive.

Never had I felt so alive,

For once I knew I could survive.

Adrenaline rushing through my veins,

There were no worries to remain.

I wasn’t safe, 

but that didn’t bother me anyway.

I was alive

Nothing else mattered.

I didn't even care if my heart was shattered.

It was in pieces for sure,

but at least, once again, it was pure

It wasn’t burning anymore.

All things were as they were before.

I was alive.
