Daredevil - 2003
★★★
Daredevil was the 5th Marvel movie ever released, unless you count the Howard the Duck movie, because that came before Blade, and so you can technically say it's the first Marvel movie ever since Howard is a Marvel character. The point is that Daredevil is one of the first Marvel heroes to be featured on the big screen, and boy, did they do him dirty.
For the time, I'm sure it was a great film, and as a fan of the comics, I gotta say they didn't do terribly tbh, but it's still a really shitty movie. If you don't know Daredevil's origins, I won't get into any of that so as to not spoil anyone, plus I don't really want to get into the plot a ton anyways.
Mostly, I just must say be ready for terrible CGI, strange acting from Colin Farrell, and scenes that make you question your existence.
Looking at this from a fan perspective, since I love Daredevil, I don't hate this movie, but I'm just trying to be objective and honest, and the honest truth is that this movie is a pile of garbage. Not the worst film I've ever seen, it's a far cry from that, but it's still pretty bad.
Also, I just cannot take Jennifer Garner in this movie seriously at all. But you know, the movie being bad actually gives it a slight charm of nostalgia, which is very nice, and everyone can use some of that here and there.
The saving grace of this movie is Jon Favreau, who plays Foggy Nelson. For those of you who don't know who Jon is, he plays Happy in all the Iron Man films and just Marvel in general.
If you want nostalgia or you're just a Marvel fan, then watch it, but if you want an actual good movie, this is not the Marvel film you want to see.
Anyway, that's all I have to say. For more reviews click this link right here.
