now ok i dont really have any profound observations on this topic this is just kinda something i want to rant about but like. its just so annoying how grunge culture has been so like warped in these past few years... like nowadays anything is classified as "grunge" mainly talking about the fashion cuz like. the whole thing was supposed to be buying clothes secondhand or from local bands/businesses or diy and thats like a big thing in realalternative fashion but now its just like. "grunge" is an ugly ass offbrand affliction shirt bought on shein. "grunge" is shitty ass baggy jeans bought off amazon that will fall apart in 3 weeks. "grunge" is a 20 pack of temu studded cuffs made in a child labor factory like. and i definitely understand some people obviously cant afford certain clothes and "have" to shop on temu/shein/aliexpress/etc. but thats the whole thinggggg!!!!!!!! like its not expensive to dress alternative!!!! you dont even have to go to a goodwill or anything you can literally just diy the clothes you already haveeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! being alternative isnt even fashion based you dont even have to diy anything just wear what you already haveeeee UGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! i just dont see why people always try to excuse shopping from those brands just because its cheap or they never find anything good at the thrift or they dont have time to diy its just like. You dont even gotta buy new clothes tho. yall know what im saying. is this making sense. i dunno

wish I could have the inspo to dress grunge, except idk if my parents would allow me to buy some dying band t shirts and I'm not a sucker for jeans that look like they were eaten by the neighbour's dog when you hopped his fence to get the ball back
It would be neat to have "emo" clothes (cuz mfs call anyone who doesn't wear bright shit) and know 5 songs before someone asks abt the band from my shirt
