So I got several things that I want to leave behind.
- addictive websites
- AI
- Plastic and unnecessary packaging
Addictive Websites
Like I mentioned in my last post, I blocked several websites. So I am no longer able to access them. (Except for a few exceptions, that I can only enter during specific times of the day). And honestly, I managed to put my ass down and do some studying.
Recently I had trouble studying. Maybe I'm just restless or stuff. Like the weather was solid shit for the last few weeks, so I couldn't ride my bike and due to the rain, the ground is mostly... water... on my usual 10k steps walking route.
I could take a different route, yes, but there would be cars and I like to listen to an audiobook while walking. And cars are fucking shit. But I got some nice fields like everywhere around my town, so I can spend an hour or two just walking there, most of the year at least.
Anyway, getting distracted here, I also read a book today. Yes it's only a diary of a wimpy kid book, but it's better than nothing and I've been reading those books since like 09 anyway, ain't going to grow out of em at this point. And why bother, if it makes ya happy then don't let others stop you, yk.
So now I only got a specific time frame where I can access reddit, instagram (I got a friend on there and we chat for a bit. Ain't doing much else on there though).
I'm also hella addicted to character ai, like I got those phases where I spend hours on there and then phases where I just don't open the site at all. I hate that site honestly. And yeah, I do feel the urge to go there, but like seeing the error message calms that urge down. So yeah, it's working as intended
Plastic and unnecessary packaging
So yeah, this is a tricky one. But I am now longer using plastic bottles and try to avoid plastic when buying food.
I honestly like the juice from the glass bottles more. Yes it's more expensive, but it tastes so much better.
Also am only going to buy fruits and vegetables from local farmers and farmer markets now. Or at least I'll try too.
But yeah, it's low key the easiest and hardest part. First trying to move to glass and then replace the plastic stuff I am using.
Is the foot and stuff more expensive? yes, but honestly, less micro plastic and we don't need that much food anyway. Also it keeps me away from shit like candy and sweets and makes them more special when I manage to get my hand on something not wrapped in plastic, like a piece of cake from a bakery.
You know, make the small things matter, support local business instead of shit like cooperation.
But yeah, that's it.
