When becoming Friends with someone online, Do you message first or Let the other person do it?

You know I got a question for those of you who stumbled upon this blog/post and My question is, What do you do after you just friended/became moots with someone on social media for example whether it here on SpaceHey or over on Discord, Etc, And you want to send a dm or message to them but you too shy/scared to do it, Like what do you do? Do you just risk it for a biscuit and be the first person who message and just see what happen, Or Do you just wait and let the other person be the one to message you first and also just see what happen? Because my answer would be the second option, As I rather not be the first person who message after becoming friends/moots with someone and would rather have the other person do it first...Unless it on discord then I'll mostly just give the person I just became friends with a little wave since Discord let you do that when you first become friends with someone. Oh and also to be honest I'm mostly to shy/scared to do it to as it will just make me start to overthink a lots about whether it was a good idea or not to reach out first, Or what they might think or Whether or not they going to respond back or not, Etc. But anyway that my question.
