HOW DO I ASK HIM ABOUT THIS??

OKAY so long story short there's a guy in my music class that I talk to and he's totally my type and I started hearing recently that he likes me??? AND I LIKE HIM TOO HIGHKEY HES SO FUN TO TALK TO

But idk how to ask if he actually does like me back bc first of all I can't tell if they're just rumors or not and second of all we're both like super shy and I struggle to talk about stuff like this without getting rejected and making a fool of myself?!!?!!??!
