 How do I still yearn for something we’ve never had? How come you grown your own way and I’ve grown my own way when we both promised to be side by side forever? We deserved a happy ending, us two hugging before finally leaving. And that’s what’s special

 Your head on my lap, your glasses slowly slipping down your nose as we laugh together. Skin to skin, sharing heat. Then, all of a sudden it’s just a distant memory, something I’ve forgotten. The most we do is remember each other, when we used to talk and have true connection. And that’s what’s special

 You suddenly get other people into your life, “Im not jealous, I’m happy for you”, I say as I laugh it off but deep inside; I am jealous. I know it, you are in a relationship with another and so am I, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t miss the close connection we had. And that’s what’s special

 I see you running up to me from behind, your mischievous and adorable smirk as you try to scare me, only for me to turn around and get you pissed. And that’s what’s special

 You changed, I changed. I became a nobody, you became a nobody. We’re just two side characters that were seen once together. We’re something that no one else can replace. Oh, how I miss you getting exited over your hyper fixation, and how exited you got when explaining it to me. And then, when you thought I found you annoying only for me to chuckle and ask you to tell me more. And that’s what’s special 

 No need to have anything romantic, anything surprising, anything out of the ordinary. No, not at all. Just that same closeness, quiet talks together, sharing a cig and just feeling the warm heat I get in my mind whenever our bodies touch. And that’s what’s special 

 But then, in the end I remind myself that those are just distant memories and the body heat only you had will never linger in my skin again, but I can always just move on, get a replacement but deep down your still tugging at my heartstrings. And that’s what’s special.
