11.17 - where will this go? i won't restrict myself. a bit about my day

hi friends, i'm allowing this blog to be a freeform journal of sorts for myself. i might ramble, i might be coherent, it'll depend on the day. i don't want to restrict myself in any way, but also i would like to guide myself where i reflect on milestones as well, even something as simple as making it through a tough week. we'll see how it manifests together :)

i registered for spring '26 courses today, thankfully got everything i wanted. i'll be doing mostly geography, including economic geography, human geo, transforming the global environment. additionally, i'm taking a geomatics class and a political science class as well, so a pretty exciting semester coming up, and i'm glad to be done the week on thursday at noon.

i read a pretty interesting article on community mapping in class (Brenda Parker's "Constructing Community Through Maps? Power and Praxis in Community Mapping*". i'll point out an annotation i made that illuminated something interesting "community maps claim to be empowering the community itself, but when a community map exposes a food desert, the members already know that, and those being exposed to this truth will be the ones affluent enough to act". you will soon learn my annotations make little sense to anyone but me.

my laptop is externally really fucked up this may become costly!

i had a nice weekend at home with my family and girlfriend
