A thought on recent events (XLOV)

South Korea has done it again. Censorship.

We have one queer group and Inkigayo cannot even stand it. They even look scared of the word "boy". They even look scared of certain dance moves. 

It came to my attention that they censored these parts of the lyrics:

- Pull the trigger

- Boy, I'm gonna kill it hard, like, yeah

So... it is okay for Stray Kids to say "just pull out my trigger" in Chk Chk Boom but not for an openly queer group... Okay. They could try to cover it by saying the lyrics are, idk, depicting violence? But how do you defend yourself against censoring specifically the word "boy"? And censoring Wumuti's slap when they usually do it just like grazing their clothes at the leg/hip?

Honestly, it's getting tiring.

However, there is something good about this. Being censored means they are doing something right. XLOV are pushing boundaries, they are creating discomfort, they are speaking up and gaining a name for themselves. At the bottom of my heart, I honestly feel like they are changing something, they are flipping the switch and they are giving other queer people the representation that we so needed in the kpop scene. 

So, my dear XLOV, keep it up. You're doing an amazing job.

Also, props to Hyun for the hand movement over his mouth during the censored part of the lyrics. You tell 'em.
