Ville struggled with asthma when he was younger, which limited his physical activities- leading to more time spent on his lonesome rather than socializing
He grew up very shy, but had a vivid imagination. It's also observed he was drawn to darker themes early in life, but it's not stated if he made it known when he was younger.
Ville is well-known for his dark humor, and has been using dark humor since a young age.
Valo always had a deep love for literature and poetry, specifically romanticism- Ville describes himself as a "melancholic romantic".
He was often seen with a cigarette during the early days of HIM, which suggests he was a chain smoker at one point in life
Caffeine addict, specifically prefers coffee. His favorite coffee's are listed below:

Valo's first music instrument was the drums, after that, he advanced to bass, and then vocals.
He learned guitar and piano later in life, teaching himself from scratch instead of hiring an instructor or attending lessons.
It's said Ville played in local bands when he was as young as 13.
HIM was originally called BLOOD, later changed to His Infernal Majesty, and then shortened to HIM.
Ville's most popular albums were "Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666" (1997), "Razorblade Romance" (2000), and his single most popular song is (obviously) "Join Me in Death"- which became the biggest selling single ever recorded in Finnish history.
He publicly admitted to suffering from "crippling anxiety", extreme stress/tension, and felt an abundance of pressure from the rapid international fame in his early 20's.
In the mid 2000's, Vilo's mental health rapidly worsened during heavy drinking- he openly talked about severe anxiety, emotional hangout, and self-destructive behavior. Some have theorized that his depression was linked with his alcohol abuse, suggesting that the two played into each other making them worse.
Ville got sober in the mid 2010's, and said that his mental health had significantly improved since.
