Iconography & Sacred Art

This blog is dedicated to iconography, sacred art, and religous symbols.

I will mainly post images of Christian icons and other spiritual artworks, focusing on their visual beauty. The religious meaning isnΒ΄t my main interest, IΒ΄m simply fascinated by how beautiful these artworks are and the symbolism behind them :p.

I was born Orthodox Christian, later converted to Islam, and have Jewish heritage from my motherΒ΄s side, but today I lowkey follow my own personal spirituality.

Most of the pictures are from Pinterest, check my Pinterest for my other pinboards :p

IΒ΄m still working on this blog, even though I donΒ΄t have much time right now.

I already have this one on my page btwI loveeeeee silver :>

The faces on many Orthodox icons appear dark or obscured because the artists use symbolic shading to express spiritual mystery rather than realistic human features and itβ€˜s often not allowed in other religions to show the faces of for example prophets (Islam).

I took this foto in Prague btw.
