Do I get discord??

I’ve been so confused on whether to get a discord to talk with more ppl and to make servers and stuff but I heard discord isn’t that safe and also can be weird to use sometimes and I’m lwk scared of it…. Am I being paranoid and I should Js get it?? Also if I do get it do I make a server or smthn?? I’m just so confused on what to do if I do get it cus I don’t kno many servers to join and stuff.
