Now, I may be experiencing some kind of nostalgic stun lock for older times, however...
It seems I'm not the only person who feels this way. I am so tired of the way modern technology has shaped our general societal and business formats. Subscription services, everything needing an app now, the deep dependency we have with our phones for something as simple as a debit card, refrigerators and microwaves needing freaking Wifi to even function... Like what the hell even is this? This is a joke. The fact that companies are forcing us to further rely on their modern tech that only gets shittier and shittier each year is putrid.
It's draining me, it's pissing me off, and it's upsetting me.
I think what upsets me most about this are 2 things.
1. This makes me very cynical and hopeless towards future tech and business related revelations in the future.
2. I have analog based hobbies and activities I could be partaking in every day that could bring my mind off of these things, yet I resort to my computer 95% of the time.
The online world is my drug and I hate that I'm so vulnerable to it. It makes me want to escape, to retreat to a room with nothing in it but silence because I feel ashamed for feeling so susceptible to resorting to mindless tech-use considering my cynicism towards the state of modern society. I want my first instinct to be to grab my sketchbook, not my laptop. To grab one of my books, not my phone.
I want to hope and wish that we may go through another revolution where we can stand up and speak out against this joke of a transition within modern tech and society. I see it happening here and there with the smaller issues within this overarching problem, so at least that's able to help me keep my faith afloat. In the meantime and on a more personal note, I hope to some day begin a DVD collection, continue working on replacing unintentional screen time with my analog hobbies, and to keep finding ways to maintain my childlike whimsy.
To those who read this far who resonate with this, be the reason someone believes that reverting back to analog lifestyles is possible in this weird ass state we are in. Find your peace, tell your friends you love em, and don't just sit and wait for the world to change. Much love y'all. <3

I can relate to this so much literally the McDonald's near me change into a gray and white colors...what it used to be was fries on top of the roof lol I also agree with you when you said "modern tech and society" God I hate it so much I don't need a robot to bring me food to the table
but I guess I can see how that can help some people with disabilities I also hope to start collecting dvds and cds but some especially the good ones they cost a lot of money I'm really happy we all are finally seeing this I don't even know what to call it anymore high tech controlling people's minds?🥹 anyways, I hope you are having a good one!
It's definitely a weird period, I'm not so sure what to call it either. I'm honestly hoping this is just a phase that'll last only a decade or so like the rest of the other tech developments that have occurred through time. Here's to hoping the next one feels less soulless than this one ;-; And thanks! You as well <3
