I've gone ahead and bought a flip phone, a pink little thing that has a stroke if you ask it to read a map and can basically only google the weather if you ask very nicely. I have sn iPad, but I've tossed most of the apps on there, too, except youtube. Youtube is the wall between me and a happy life. I just end up sitting there and watching crap and glancing at the pile of books at my nightstand longingly.
I've had my pink flip phone for two days, but I haven't really had a chance to go outside with it. I really don't wanna go back to my iPhone, most of the time it just feels like a prison of my own making.
Maybe I'll be updating here about my journey, so stick around if you're curious? I guess living without a smartphone in 2025 might prove to be tricky.

Where did you buy your flip phone? I'd love to have one to use when I go out and not risk having my main phone stolen if I get mugged, and besides, these phones are so cute! I'd love to have one to get rid of my cell phone.
I tried looking for some on famous websites here, but most aren't very up-to-date or dont have a pretty pink casing.
It's hard to live in a country where eBay doesn't work :C
i got it in a mainstream tech store where i live, but maybe you could order online? i got the hmd 2660 flip, it cmes in black, pink and purple, i recommend it if its available where you live! here's the website:

Oh, thank you, dear! The website doesn't seem to deliver here, but I'll look for a flip phone with similar specs! I think I might find one in some antique shops in downtown!(*^^*)♡

Respect. I’m currently working on reducing my screen time, but I’ve had a lot of free time lately. I can’t help but play stupid games and watch TikTok on my phone lol
“I really don't wanna go back to my iPhone, most of the time it just feels like a prison of my own making.” I totally agree dude…

these little machines have been designed to eat away at our brains. i couldn't possibly get myself to stop looking at tiktok until i uninstalled it, and even then i replaced tiktoks with instagram reels, so i got rid of the entire thing altogether and its only been a few days but i don't think i've been this happy since 2011

Wtf, I’m literally going through the same thing! It genuinely feels like a never ending cycle. In fact, I once ranted about how I felt about Instagram and TikTok in a blog post. Those two not only make me unproductive as shit, but they also make me feel like shit. To avoid falling into hours of not doing anything, I’ve deleted Instagram and only open TikTok for an hour a day. But I can’t stop using Instagram entirely because some of my friends message me through it. So now I’m only using the website version to check if anyone’s messaging me. At the moment, I’m letting myself be free for a bit and watch TikTok as much as I want. I had to stop myself and completely delete all of my socials last time because I needed to lock in for my studies lol. But yeah, I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who feels this way. I couldn’t tell about this to anyone, not even my friends, because they wouldn’t really understand. Which, led me to rant about it on SpaceHey instead

i figured, if someone really needs to contact me, they'll get get a hold of my phone number. i think to the past, and how friends would simply call each other if they needed something, and how people managed to live their lives without all this meaningless slop. i want my live to be full of things i enjoy and people i love rather than AI slop and short-form videos that turn me into a caricature of a human person. and i realized, a lot of it are just excuses. "i need x app for y reason" and, most likely, it can be done on the computer. we fear the change so we make up reasons to keep staying the same and then it ruins us. i've had enough, frankly

I've been thinking of doing the same thing! Though because of uni it's very difficult to...
I hope you find some peace with your flip phone!
I’m in uni too, but I decided that whatever happens happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
