Young Bae: Japanese Disco Edits Vol 1

Yeah well I just got this one on Vinyl and I don't have a ton of time tonight, it's only 6 tracks.
But MAN are they tracks!

1. Sailor Babe
Trumpets!
Sunshine!
The trumpet solo is so good...

2. Anibabe
A nice mellow song with a lot of guitar.  Not my cup of tea but it's a good song.  Also has a lot of English lyrics for a song on an album called "Japanese Disco Edits Vol 1"
Bae you stole the "You are now listening to" thing from Macross!(More on him later)

3. Distant Love
I love the city when it's empty.
Male singers are rare in Futurefunk, muchless Japanese male singers.  I know not which artist is sampled here, but he's great.  His English is perfect too.

4. Selfish High Heels
DRESS DOWN
Also I love the synth on this track.

Macross(And Harrison) worked on this one and it really shows.  The opening hook sounds like it's right out of Sailorwave II, and Macross would go on to sample this song for 82.99FM(Which Bae is credited for helping with).  Full circle.

When I was in Brooklyn for the Neon City Cruising tour, this song was the encore.  Yung Bae had Macross come out and start it up, then the two of them just started vibing.  I was vibing, the rest of the audience was vibing.  This song has a special place in my heart.

5. Bae City Rollaz
This track is from Bae.  It's some of his early work and it's a little less polished than his later stuff.  The intro just drags on forever.  Not terrible though, nothing Bae does is terrible.

6. Fly With Me
Also from Bae, but this is the strongest track from that album.  An absolute banger.
Synth that sounds like trumpets but isn't actual trumpets.  A very unique sound.  Lyrics are great.  Solid track and a good ending, both to Bae and to this album.
