New Kitten!!!!

WE JUST ADOPTED A NEW KITTY!!

Me and my sis adopted our first cat Juniper earlier this year, and she's been desperately needing a friend. The plan was that we'd eventually get another cat soon, but we needed to prepare our home for a second cat. After deep cleaning the apartment and buying a new couch we finally started looking!

My sister, her friend, and I went to a local cat cafe to see what they had! we originally wanted a cat around 2-3 years old. Juni had a rather... painful kitten stage, so we wanted one with a little less energy. But of course, we fell in love with this little 4 month old kitten. 

There were a lot of cats to chose from. Tiger was in our desired age range, but after seeing him swat at a cat, and other cats clearing a path for him when he walked, he seemed a little too large and in charge for Juni. Dax was a beautiful solid grey, but he never left his bed and wasn't very interested in us. dolly and lulu were super cute, but were also a bonded pair. and laying in a big cage was a gorgeous Siamese kitten with only 3 legs, she was our second choice, but since she was in a cage we couldn't really interact with her.(she was in a cage bc she was new and getting used to the other cats)

But a special little guy caught our eye, little Enrique. He was abundantly sweet and very handsome. I played with him with one of the provided string toys, and then scooped him into my arms. My sis came over to pet him in my arms, and when he freely let her touch his toe beans, she fell in love. we immediately inquired about adopting him, and we were put in contact with his foster mom. We weren't the only ones interested in him which wasn't surprising. The first family had dibs on him, but luckily for us they backed out so we got him!

And so yesterday we got up early and went to get him! We're keeping him in my sisters room while him and Juni get to know each other. We took lots and lots of photos and have kinda unofficially named him Ricky!

I'll keep ya'll updated on how the babies get along. Juni has been hissing a lot, she hisses at us when she smells him on us. but she hasn't been attacking or swatting, so i think that's a good sign. Ricky is very used to other cats, so he isn't bothered in the slightest. Tomorrow we'll let them officially meet, but we are gonna keep them pretty separate for a little bit. Pray for my sis tho he's been blowing her room up, absolutely farting up a storm.
