I’m taking an automotive class next year, it’s an all year elective
I’m pretty new to this stuff and I know I guess basic stuff idk
I just don’t want to come into class as an 11th grader and not know stuff I should know,
In the prerequisite class we learned how to operate 2 different car lifts, how to change a tire, and how to use jacks.
I know I am probably setting the expectations fr myself a bit higher than they need to be since he taught us what he wanted to in the prerequisite, but I just wanna make sure I’m not missing anything important I guess
if you have any good YouTube videos for me to check out or just advice pls let me know

I do automotive stuff on Fridays and will be moving to doing it all week next year. Know your tools. Know parts, look at diagrams, videos of people taking things apart.
In my lessons we get looked over as we jack up the car and then that’s it if we’re taking something apart, get told what we need to do and get to figure it out which I like.
I would think you would be ahead just knowing the name of tools and parts
Thank you for the advice🙏🙏

Hey I’m Patrick, I took 4 automotive classes in highschool and am on my 2nd year of college as a diesel mechanic, for those classes the main thing you are gonna want to memorize and remember are things such as what tools are called and what they do, how to properly check battery voltage, how to operate the lift, how to change tires, and ability to identify key components of the vehicle like the alternator, battery, radiator, motor, etc.
Thank you!! This helps alot
