As per usual, I kinda lack “favorites” for most things, so I’ll name a number of my favorites.
I also listen to albums all the way through a fair bit / and or really like a lot of songs off of a specific album… so I’ll probably name a lot of albums where it says “song”. 

what is the last song you couldn’t get out of your head? 

The Crystal World by Locrian. That song was in my last blog though so honorary mention to Suck by Thou. 

what is the last song you heard that blew your mind/amazed you?

Probably Thunberg II by Ramleh… It really feels like the culmination of every sound that Ramleh has ever produced. A synergistic synthesis. 

what is the last song you heard that you didn’t really like? 

I don’t keep track of music I don’t like well enough to be able to answer that…

go-to karaoke song? 

I feel like I'm too self conscious about my voice to have a good answer to that right now. Maybe after some more voice training.

go-to song to cry/feel sad to? 

When I am feeling nihilistic and dismal, probably the entire album Stare Into Death And Be Still by Ulcerate. When I am feeling angry with the state of the world, the entire album Hostile Architecture by Ashenspire. When I am feeling totally out of it (dissociated) and a mixture of all of the above, the entire album Hole In The Heart by Ramleh… Honorary mention for The Wall by Pink Floyd and literally any album by the band Failure. 

go-to song to hype yourself up to? 

50ft Queenie by PJ Harvey. Legalize Drugs & Murder by Electric Wizard. Fire by Cirith Ungol. 

favorite song from your favorite album? 

I have a lot of favorite albums, which you can see here. But I’ll take the opportunity to name a few that shouldn’t be coming up elsewhere in this post…… Heaven Is Waiting from “Heaven Is Waiting” by The Danse Society. The Dress from “The Spin” by Messa. Forget Not from “Portal Of I” by Ne Obliviscaris. Colored Sands from “Colored Sands” by Gorguts. Exercises In Futility V from “Exercises in Futility” by Mgla (Yes… I know they’re probably problematic…). 

favorite song from a movie soundtrack? 

Struggling to think of one… I really like this song from the Madoka Magica “Rebellion” Movie. 

favorite song from a video game soundtrack? 

An Empty Void That Dared To Dream It Was Alive from the Slay the Princess OST. Burn, Baby, Burn from the Disco Elysium OST. Ludwig, the Accursed & Ludwig, the Holy Blade from the Bloodborne OST. (Honestly, a ton of songs from all of these OSTs could easily make it here). 

favorite tv show theme song?/favorite anime opening? 

Serial Experiments Lain Opening (which is where Duvet by Boa originates). The Sumer Hikaru Died Season One Opening. 

favorite song from a genre you usually don’t listen to? 

The album Eye of I by James Brandon Lewis (Jazz). The album Sonor by Enji (Jazz). The album Visions by Guilhem Desq (Folk). The album Perfect Fake by アバドン Abaddon (Vaporwave & Glitch Pop). 

what’s a song that best represents you as a person? 

Dream Unending by Dream Unending. The Distant Dream Of Life by Shape Of Despair. In Spirit In Spite by Plague God. Wretched World by Converge. 

what’s a song that best represents your best friend? 

Come As You Are by Nirvana for one of my friends. Death Of A Songbird by Luna Ripley for another friend (Fair chance they’re reading this!). 

what’s a song that reminds you of a happy memory? 

(Don’t Fear) The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult.

what’s a song your younger self swears is the best song ever? 

Sober by Tool.

Well… I don’t pick favorites easily as you’ve all surely learned by this point… Uhhh, probably something on this list, perhaps from the “represents me as a person” question.
