Healthcare is genuinely so fucked.

I wanted to talk about my experiences in healthcare because all of this is just insane. This is probably gonna be just a lot of ranting because this literally makes me so mad.

The amount of mistreatment by doctors lately has been INSANE TO ME. I’ve seen my family, friends, people online, and even myself be brushed off by doctors. In my case, every single fucking time I go to the doctor about a problem I have they tell me “it’s probably just your anxiety”. Here’s examples of what I’ve said.

“I’ve had stomach issues since I was a child and they get worse every day. I have terrible stomach aches all day.”

“It’s just your anxiety.” 

“I keep having shortness of breath and sometimes it’s hard and hurts to breathe.” 

“Anxiety for sure.”

“I get piercing chest pains and feel like I’m about to pass out during them.”

“You know, anxiety can do that to you.”

It genuinely enrages me. I’m suspecting I might have a serious underlying condition but doctors tell me it’s my anxiety and just set me off. Yes, I have severe anxiety and PTSD but that doesn’t mean EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM I HAVE is anxiety. Like I could have a fucking heart attack and they’d tell me it was anxiety. 

If doctors keep brushing off stuff like this, people are gonna die younger. I’ve seen people online countless of times being brushed off and then turns out they have cancer. 

And it’s so insanely expensive too. I went to urgent care for my shortness of breath, just for them to do nothing and tell me it was anxiety. Why did it charge my family $500??? They did no procedures on me…it made me feel like a burden to my family.

So to anyone out there who has any concerning symptoms like me…trust your gut, don’t let the doctors tell you “it’s just blahblahblah” because it probably isn’t. Sometimes it is, but ALWAYS trust your gut when it comes to your health, better to be safe than sorry. Stay safe out there.
